Program information on Dutch Design Double.
Two Dutch cities, more than twenty design-events spread over five weeks. Dutch Design Double celebrates Dutch design from the 4th of September until the 11th of October 2009.
Amsterdam has her famous Dam; Utrecht the renowned Dom. Amsterdam was the birthplace of Droog Design; Utrecht the birthplace of Rietveld. Amsterdam is home to the flagship store of Marcel Wanders; Utrecht has the fantastic Dick Bruna Huis.
Under the umbrella Dutch Design Double, Amsterdam and Utrecht host throughout the whole month of September and the first week of October, a great variety of internationally orientated design and fashion events. Both cities are joining forces to create a handpicked selection of design, fashion and new media projects.
The events include Creative Hotspots (broedplaatsen), Social Design (Utrecht Manifest), Jewellery (Ted Noten), Shoe Design (Jan Jansen), Utrecht Graduates (HKU), New Media (PICNIC) and finally, the Usual Suspects (Woonbeurs, Elle Inside Design).
